Lead Stormwater Engineer

About the role

Century West Engineering is seeking an engineer to lead stormwater design on aviation and municipal engineering projects throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams to complete hydrology and hydraulics (H/H) analysis
• Design stormwater conveyance and treatment solutions
• Prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs)
• Supervise the construction of stormwater facilities
• Plan, design, and oversee construction of stormwater infrastructure improvement projects
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Participate in project development meetings with client teams
• Mentor designers and engineers-in-training to build a stronger understanding of stormwater design
• Conduct field inspections

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or appropriate discipline
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho
• 5+ years of stormwater design experience
• Experience with local, regional, and state stormwater manuals
• Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead certification a plus
• Experience working with Civil 3D, SSA, EPASWMM, HEC-RAS, and HY8

Qualifications

• Experience with storm drains, culverts, stormwater management, low-impact development approaches (LIDA), H/H modeling, environmental permitting, and cost estimating

Skills

• Proficiency in stormwater design software such as Civil 3D, SSA, EPASWMM, HEC-RAS, and HY8
