Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft mechanical subsystems
- Build mechanism sub-assemblies, actuators, hinges, deployment systems, and release devices
- Integrate mechanical assemblies onto spacecraft structures
- Support developmental, qualification, and acceptance testing
- Conduct inspections, verification, and anomaly identification during build and test
- Provide detailed feedback to engineering to improve designs and processes
- Lead complex assembly operations and mentor junior technicians
- Train lower-level technicians in proper techniques and workmanship
- Support production and verification throughout spacecraft manufacturing
Qualifications
- 5–15 years of experience working with high-reliability aerospace, satellite, launch vehicle, or precision mechanical systems
- Strong hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, integration, and testing in manual or low-automation environments
- Knowledge of spacecraft mechanisms, deployment systems, actuators, and mechanical subsystems
- Experience reading engineering drawings and following technical procedures
- Experience with environmental testing (vibration, shock, TVAC) preferred
- Familiarity with RCCA, nonconformance documentation, and cleanroom practices
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent military/industry experience)
Pay
Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000 depending on experience
