Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain a regular scheduled case load when not assisting Technical Supervisor.
- Aid in the technical training for new hires and existing staff, as needed.
- Aid in managing designated technical staff scheduling, including regular schedules, on-call schedules, holiday schedules, vacation schedules, and other coverage issues.
- Handle or troubleshoot minor equipment problems and advise or initiate a service call as needed.
- Act as a resource for other sonographers when clinical or technical issues arise.
- Respond proactively to any issues or complaints from the facility, providing immediate solutions.
- Act as a backup for STAT requests if a field sonographer in the area is unable to respond or report to the ordering facility.
- Escalate any issues to the director of ultrasound as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Maintain ARDMS or CCI certification.
- Maintain a valid state-issued Driver’s License and have a good driving record.
Physical Demands
- Physically capable of loading and unloading portable ultrasound equipment from a vehicle, and positioning patients for examination that may not be able to assist.
- Frequently stand, walk, handle or feel, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
