Lead Solar Electrical Estimator

Key Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and labor/material cost estimates.
• Develop estimates for EV charging, BESS, and solar PV systems.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks.
• Identify project risks and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Prepare proposals and bid packages, and present to leadership.
• Collaborate with project teams during project handoff.
• Maintain estimating databases and track bid outcomes.
• Build relationships with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, solar PV, battery storage, and EV infrastructure.
• Experience estimating commercial and industrial projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and industry standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• PREFERRED: 7+ years estimating experience, leadership skills, industry certifications, electrical licenses, and government project experience.
