About the role

The Lead Software Quality Assurance Analyst helps deliver the quality, efficiency, and performance expectations of enterprise-level applications and systems. These include multi-platform software products that are web-based, API/service-oriented with middleware integration components, and cross-functional capabilities. This role involves working closely with business analysts, software developers, and other IT roles to understand complex domains and products, focusing on developing automated and functional integration tests as well as end-to-end tests for system validation.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage assigned tasks, provide project estimations, and perform risk assessments and planning.
  • Analyze complex projects and initiatives to determine logical validation approaches.
  • Derive testing strategies and approaches from architecture diagrams, flow diagrams, or design mocks.
  • Self-manage analysis and quality processes throughout the software lifecycle while driving quality into the overall work process.
  • Support medium/large size requests with minimal oversight.
  • Serve as an individual contributor in a lead capacity on mid-level projects or initiatives.
  • Lead/manage testing strategies that span multiple business areas and/or application teams.
  • Recognize risks and mitigation strategies in software validation or workflow designs.
  • Mentor junior-level SQA analysts.
  • Engage with various stakeholders (operations, IT, vendors) on strategy, approach, testing efforts, and issue mitigation.
  • Analytically and critically assess projects or initiatives to identify risk areas.
  • Communicate with all levels of IT and business to report status, risks, and mitigations.
  • Ensure alignment of solutions with overall enterprise goals.
  • Participate in the interview process for junior-level hires.

Plus: Working experience integrating AI software tools and techniques into the automation process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 6 or more years of software test automation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of experience with the software development lifecycle, methodologies, standards, and practices.
  • 6 or more years of advanced experience with management/document repository tools (Jira, ALM, Zephyr, etc.).
  • 6 or more years of advanced technical skills working with IDEs, programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, C#, VB Script).
  • 6 or more years of advanced skills working with automation tools/frameworks (Selenium, UFT, Cucumber, TestNG, etc.).
  • 6 or more years of advanced skills working with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssure, etc.).
  • 6 or more years of advanced experience writing SQL queries.
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills: both written and verbal.
  • Project management, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of Durham, NC, will follow a hybrid schedule, including a minimum of three in-office days per week in Durham.
