About the role
The Lead Software Engineering position at AT&T involves overseeing the entire software delivery process, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders to gather and review software requirements, providing estimates, creating software design specifications, and assessing and testing hardware and software interactions.
Responsibilities
- Execute a specific development methodology through application of various programming languages such as Python, PL/SQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Create and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, clients, etc. to validate test environments, test data, and test results.
- Design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results, and produce associated reporting.
- Support applications and solve configuration and environment issues.
- Support the software deployment process.
- Utilize cloud automation tools like Terraform, Packer, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Apply advanced knowledge in observability tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and OpenSearch.
- Work with large-scale enterprise applications requiring performance tuning and scalability.
- Architect dynamic and scalable solutions for handling large data sets and transactions.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology with 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in software engineering, or 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing Java, Go Lang, shell scripting, and Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms like OpenStack, Azure, and Linux/Ubuntu.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Cloud-init scripts in YAML and JSON.
- Advanced knowledge in agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with large language models and machine learning automation.
- Ability to work with large data sets and perform performance tuning.

$180,250 - $237,400 yearly
