About the role
We are seeking a Lead Engineer who doesn’t just write code, but builds the ecosystem where great code thrives. Our engineering organization is at a pivotal junction, and we need a true technical leader to act as the “North Star” for engineering discipline, quality, and architectural integrity. You will be the transformative force that instills a culture of collaborative architectural rigor, leading by example to ensure high‑quality software is built through a highly communicative and disciplined team.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Stewardship: Design systems using S.O.L.I.D. principles to ensure extensibility and maintainability for long‑term in‑house ownership.
- AI‑Augmented Development: Expertly utilize AI‑assisted development tools (Copilots, LLMs, automated refactoring) to transform how the team builds, tests, and deploys, integrating AI into daily workflow for maximum efficiency and code quality.
- SDLC Transformation: Audit and overhaul development processes, defining “Quality” from automated testing to rigorous code‑review standards.
- Leadership & Discipline: Serve as the technical anchor for the team, ensuring rapid delivery never compromises correctness.
- Technical Priority: Partner with the Engineering Manager to prioritize the roadmap, advocate for remediation of technical debt, and protect the health of the codebase.
Qualifications
- A Leader First: Set standards, challenge the status quo, and protect codebase health.
- Master Craftsman: Deep expertise in JavaScript (Node.js), NoSQL (MongoDB), and Angular; capable of delivering lasting solutions.
- Modern Methodology: Embrace “Fail Fast” and iterative development; apply S.O.L.I.D. principles in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prioritize building reusable, scalable systems over one‑off implementations, focusing on long‑term maintainability.
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) or understanding of how application design impacts downstream analytics is a plus.
Tech Stack
- Backend: Node.js, AWS Lambdas, Serverless Architecture
- Frontend: Angular (latest versions), TypeScript
- Database: MongoDB (Atlas)
- Infrastructure: AWS, CI/CD Pipelines
Pay
Salary range: $160,000 – $190,000, flexible and negotiable based on skills, knowledge, and demonstrated expertise.
Schedule
- Office‑Based: Modern, well‑equipped office space for collaborative, face‑to‑face work.
- Hybrid: Balance between office and remote work, offering the best of both worlds.
