Lead Software Engineer (Python, Scala, Spark, AWS)
Overview:
A back-end software engineer who leads technology projects and teams, shares knowledge, collaborates with product managers, and utilizes various programming languages and cloud services.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with expertise in distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in technology communities, mentor others, and occasionally contribute to coding or code evaluation.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance customer experiences.
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, along with open-source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- 7+ years of experience in Java, Scala, Python, or Spark
- 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
- Experience with interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity
Pay Range:
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role vary by location. For example, in Chicago, IL, the range is $179,400 - $204,700 for Lead Software Engineer.
