About the role

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. As a core technical contributor of a software engineering team, you will execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and automation while maintaining secure, high-quality, auditable delivery.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, and ensure implemented code conforms to design constraints and standards.
  • Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve scalable, resilient systems in a timely manner in partnership with product teams.
  • Write clean, well-documented, unit-tested code to ensure high-quality software modules.
  • Incorporate non-functional requirements (telemetry, monitoring, security, alerting, logging) into solution designs and implementations.
  • Manage critical, time-sensitive concurrent tasks with appropriate supervision, prioritization, and escalation when needed.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance delivery flow across product and technology.
  • Mentor and develop team members in design, new technologies, clean code, TDD, code review, and problem-solving practices.
  • Partner with product/customers to understand program function and end-user experience, support production issues as needed, collaborate effectively in distributed Agile teams, and contribute as a technology coach/lead developer across teams.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence stakeholders, explain complex technical concepts, and collaborate across teams and time zones.
  • Demonstrated leadership in using approved AI-assisted development tools (coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) and setting team standards to validate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency/security expectations; able to coach teams on safe, compliant adoption.
  • Proficiency with AI coding/analysis assistants to improve developer productivity and velocity, applying appropriate governance and security controls.
  • Proven innovator with a track record of proposing and prototyping new design ideas to solve problems.
  • Expert knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and software analysis/design practices.
  • Ability to assess upstream/downstream system and data impacts and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Strong backend engineering experience with Java, REST/web services/APIs, Spring Boot, microservices, multithreading, and databases (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL, CockroachDB).
  • Frontend experience with modern UI frameworks such as React and Angular.
  • DevOps/quality and non-functional tooling experience, including Terraform (or similar IaC), test automation (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, Blazemeter), Git, Jenkins CI/CD, application resiliency and security, and performance/telemetry/monitoring/alerts/logging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with customer-facing web applications, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Experience with Agile Development Techniques, Issue/Bug Management, and Team Collaboration Tools.
  • Ability to understand requirements, technical design, and ask the right questions to develop high-quality solutions.
  • Zeal to learn new technologies.
  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Experience leading a technical team.
