Lead Software Engineer - Back End (Golang, AWS)

About the role

Core Payments and Partnerships Tech (CPP) delivers best in class customer and partner experiences by transforming our Core lending, Inbound Payments, and Partnerships platforms. This includes Card Core Modernization, where they build a high quality modern core lending platform that allows us to innovate and create unified customer experiences across all of Capital One.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Qualifications

• Master's Degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience with Golang preferred
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service preferred
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices preferred

Skills

• Programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala
• Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes
• A variety of AWS tools and services

Salaries for Lead Software Engineer positions in McLean, VA range from $197,300 to $225,100 annually.
