Lead Software Engineer
About the role
This individual will serve as both a technical leader and hands-on developer, managing a team of three software engineers while collaborating directly with researchers, veterinarians, administrators, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable software solutions. The Lead Software Engineer will oversee the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, code reviews, and ongoing application support.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of software development experience
- At least 2 years of leadership or people management experience
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Node.js, JavaScript, Vue.js or React.js, GraphQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and full-stack web application development
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Mentoring developers and supporting enterprise applications
- Experience with AWS, Nuxt.js, MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), CI/CD practices, process automation initiatives, and supporting applications within healthcare, research, higher education, or nonprofit environments

- Pay Range: $125,000.00 - $130,000.00/yr
