About the Opportunity

The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and enhancement of the software platform, focusing on defining and delivering customer-configurability features. This role involves technical ownership of feature releases and platform improvements, contributing to the platform's overall quality, scalability, and security. The position supports collaboration across teams to provide healthcare practitioners with a high-quality user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the end-to-end technical design process utilizing data-driven analysis and architectural modeling
  • Own full-lifecycle feature design, development, rigorous testing, and delivery of core cloud platforms and modern web applications
  • Maintain, optimize, and scale all platform components across the entire technical stack, from the backend database layer to the frontend user interface
  • Research, prototype, and implement emerging technologies and engineering workflows to maximize development efficiency
  • Advocate for and promote engineering best practices in automated testing, code reviews, and comprehensive quality assurance
  • Enforce strict adherence to healthcare data privacy regulations, compliance standards, and cloud security frameworks
  • Mentor, guide, and support the professional and technical growth of junior and mid-level engineers within the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical professional experience
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience building enterprise applications
  • Proven frontend development experience utilizing React and TypeScript or a comparable modern web framework
  • Strong backend programming proficiency in Java
  • Demonstrated skill in designing, building, and optimizing highly scalable data services and robust RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Hands-on development experience navigating distributed systems and data tools such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, DataDog, or Apache Kafka
  • Direct experience managing Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure alongside Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Solid familiarity with modern version control workflows (Git), automated unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate productively with cross-functional product management and UX design teams
  • Strong motivation to thrive and adapt within a fast-paced, high-innovation startup environment
  • Prior engineering experience operating within the healthcare technology, health-tech payer/provider, or life sciences sectors (preferred)
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, Mocha, JUnit, or Cucumber (preferred)
  • Development experience leveraging Groovy scripting and the Micronaut framework (preferred)

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Target baseline salary framework: $155,000.00 to $175,000.00 USD annually
Final base salary placement within this tier is calibrated dynamically based on the candidate's full-stack architectural depth, Java/React assessment performance, and specialized industry background evaluation
