Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and scaling of large data platforms, databases, and data pipelines.
• Arcitect and implement APIs, distributed systems, and data integration solutions to support business needs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Mentor and guide engineers, establishing best practices for code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Drive CI/CD adoption, code reviews, and version control best practices across the engineering team.
• Support data analytics and machine learning workflows through infrastructure and pipeline enhancements.
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Operate effectively in an ambiguous environment, bringing clarity and driving execution across initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (MS preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated technical leadership
• Strong experience designing and scaling large data platforms, databases, and pipelines
• Experience with data analytics, statistics, and/or machine learning workflows
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers in a collaborative environment
• Hands-on experience building APIs, distributed systems, and data integration solutions
• Familiarity with data visualization, dashboards, and reporting tools
• Experience working in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Strong hands-on experience with source control, code reviews, and CI/CD practices
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-driven, adaptable leader who thrives in ambiguous environments and drives clarity and execution

Pay

Compensation for the Lead Senior Software Engineer includes: Salary range: $130,000 – $150,000 depending on experience Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO Hybrid or remote flexibility for candidates local to the Raleigh, NC area
