Lead Software Engineer

Location: Newport Beach, California (onsite 4 days per week)

Rate: $87–92/hour

About the Role

This position focuses on modernizing annuity policy administration platforms through AWS-based development, integration, DevOps automation, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design AWS data layers for ingestion, replication, transformation, reconciliation, and operational data processing
• Build orchestration and integration services
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and deploy Infrastructure as Code
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years of AWS development
• Experience with Java, Python, or another enterprise development language
• Experience designing data solutions (ingestion, replication, transformation, reconciliation, operational processing)
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deploying Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, networking, logging, and monitoring
• Strong technical leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications
• Mainframe integration experience
• Familiarity with financial services platforms
