About the Role
The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Simulation Software Engineer to support a proprietary program within the Air Dominance organization based in Berkeley, MO. This pivotal role involves leading the design, architecture, and development of advanced simulation models and frameworks that are essential for testing and analysis purposes. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in simulation technologies and act as a customer-facing technical authority for Flight Simulation Labs (FSL) products and capabilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical simulation products that directly contribute to the success of the program. The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and collaboration, working closely with multidisciplinary teams of engineers in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities by developing and maintaining software architectures, requirements, and designs for simulation models and frameworks.
- Oversee and approve the software development plan, including defining major components, architecture, and delivery milestones in collaboration with program architects and FSL teams.
- Ensure the development, documentation, and maintenance of architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs across the simulation products.
- Coordinate with FSL hardware teams to guarantee first-time quality in integrated simulation and lab capabilities.
- Gather customer inputs, prioritize stakeholder needs, and manage work across multiple scrum teams to meet project deadlines.
- Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Provide technical leadership independently across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and engineering standards.
- Conduct technical design reviews to uphold software quality, consistency, and engineering integrity across all development activities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, extensive experience, and technical expertise. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in simulation software development. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or C#, and have a solid background in hardware/software integration, emulation, and testing, preferably within laboratory environments. Leadership experience guiding software teams through the full development lifecycle is essential. Additionally, the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, including access to Special Access Programs (SAP), is mandatory.
- Preferred qualifications include an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering principles.
- Experience with distributed and containerized architectures.
- Hands-on Linux development expertise.

Pay
The pay range for this role is between $198,050 and $267,950, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
