Lead Software Developer

About the role

Analyze project requirements and participate in initial brainstorming discussions with cross-functional stakeholders. Work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to review requirements and describe functional, non-functional, and transitional functionalities. Define conditions that validate successful project completion and prepare approach notes and project plans.

Responsibilities

• Research and pre-plan with the team to list dependencies
• Document the solution and approach for each module
• Define roles, responsibilities, and resources
• Demonstrate and explain the project to key stakeholders
• Create high-level architecture for features of existing projects and new initiatives
• Present architecture documentation to internal security and architecture council for implementation approval
• Represent the team in architecture meetings and provide architectural blueprints to the development team
• Work with other Architects to design performant and scalable solutions
• Guide and assist the development team throughout the process to ensure implementation aligns with architecture design
• Oversee the development team's progress to ensure consistency with initial design
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers
• Review code to ensure design quality by avoiding complexity and advocating for clarity
• Provide domain knowledge around DevOps and enterprise technology to speed up development and deployment
• Create required design documents including project design and technical specification documents describing overall architecture
• Define assumptions, dependencies, constraints, goals, guidelines, development methods, and architectural strategies
• Write code for assigned modules
• Help the team with day-to-day development activities
• Maintain transparency in the process, update the client on development progress and issues, and manage client expectations
• Conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations
• Review production incidents and provide permanent solutions to production and other code and technical issues

Qualifications

Master's or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field, plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as a software designer, developer, Sr. developer, tester, or related. In the alternative, a Bachelor's or equivalent in the above-stated fields plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the above-stated occupations is acceptable.

Pay

$264,514.00/year

Schedule

Telecommuting is permitted with prior manager approval. Position is based out of 101 Metro Drive, Suite 360, San Jose, CA 95110, and may require relocation to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States.
