Position Responsibilities
- Provide project-specific safety support by monitoring compliance with company, state, and federal safety standards.
- Serve in an advisory role to project management, applying expertise to foster a positive health and safety culture and ensure occupational risks are effectively controlled.
- Instruct and educate field employees to maintain safe work practices.
Requirements
- Conduct periodic on-site safety inspections, evaluating work practices to determine safe methods for performing tasks.
- Knowledge of loss control, accident investigation, and medical case management, gained through prior experience or documented on-the-job training.
- Career safety and risk management programs or occupational safety and health experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present ideas verbally and in writing.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups, site management, or customer representatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions to control occupational risks.
- Familiarity with construction safety work rules in Supervisor Safety Manuals and OSHA regulations (Parts 1910 and 1926).
- Ability to manage a small team of Field Safety Specialists or operate independently on a project.
- Current Basic First Aid / CPR certification.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in safety and risk management programs or occupational safety and health, preferably within the construction industry, and consistently meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
Knowledge of marine and land piling operations is highly desirable.
