Lead Shipping Associate

Responsibilities

• Reviews paperwork for incoming merchandise and customer orders to distribute work activities to team.
• Loads/unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
• Prepares inventory for shipment. Properly bands and shrink wraps pallets and attaches shipping labels.
• Processes shipping orders using computerized shipping system and monitors order pick report.
• Loads and unloads trucks and ensures trucks are loaded by Shippers.
• Maintains warehouse inventory on racks in a neat and orderly manner.
• Trains Shippers/Receivers as assigned.
• Tracks shipping errors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas.
• Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility.
• Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Experience with shipping/receiving operations in a high-volume warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking, or computerized shipping systems.
• Proven ability to train, delegate tasks, and support junior associates in daily operations.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, order accuracy, and shipping documentation.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot operational issues and resolve shipping or receiving discrepancies.
