About the role
The Lead ServiceNow Software Engineer will play a key role in delivering solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive business value. This role requires a deep understanding of ServiceNow platforms and a commitment to delivering high-quality, outcome-focused software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engineering solutions that address complex business and user needs, ensuring they align with customer and business outcomes.
- Lead requirement analysis, component design, development, unit testing, integrations, and support for ServiceNow applications.
- Maintain code integrity and ensure adherence to quality standards, while continuously learning and applying new technologies and frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse perspectives and make informed decisions that balance feasibility, viability, usability, and value.
- Adopt a lean, iterative approach to project delivery, focusing on rapid experimentation and evidence-based decision-making.
- Translate business and user needs into technical specifications and code, ensuring all quality metrics are met or exceeded.
- Provide clear guidance to team members and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment that supports continuous improvement and learning.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, ServiceNow APIs, and GlideRecord queries.
- At least 5 years of experience with ServiceNow cloud-native platform capabilities such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, ITBM, HRSD, CSM, and ServiceNow integration.
- At least 1 year of experience with ServiceNow AI/ML and GenAI features such as Predictive Intelligence, Virtual Agent, and Now Intelligence.
- Experience with cloud-native engineering, using FaaS/PaaS/micro-services on cloud hyper-scalers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Prior experience with methodologies and tools such as XP, Lean, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, and SonarQube to rapidly deliver high-quality solutions.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow-specific tools like ServiceNow Studio, Automated Test Framework (ATF), and ServiceNow CI/CD practices.
Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-native engineering, using FaaS/PaaS/micro-services on cloud hyper-scalers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Prior experience with methodologies and tools such as XP, Lean, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, and SonarQube to rapidly deliver high-quality solutions.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow-specific tools like ServiceNow Studio, Automated Test Framework (ATF), and ServiceNow CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Business Context Diagrams (BCDs), sequence, activity, state, entity relationship, and data flow diagrams, as well as OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms, and code instrumentation.
