Lead Service Technician (San Posada - POD 4)
About the role
Mark-Taylor is hiring Lead Service Technicians at multiple locations throughout the Greater Phoenix Area. This role involves assisting in the completion of make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards, maintaining a supply of make-ready units, troubleshooting and correcting minor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues, performing pool care, inspecting properties for safety hazards, and training and mentoring other technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the completion of make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards
- Maintain adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs
- Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available
- Complete daily pool care, ensuring the pool is in proper chemical balance and the area is free of safety concerns
- Perform minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
- Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard
- Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge
- Avoid necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available
- Avoid performing pool care, inspecting properties for safety hazards, sharing on-call duty, and avoiding necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
- One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar)
- Service orientation
- Basic computer skills
- Two or more years experience working as an apartment turn technician, maintenance technician, make-ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable
- A basic understanding of written and verbal English
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Arizona driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test

Pay
The starting hourly pay range for Lead Service Technician is $26.00, commensurate with experience and dependent on the specific community's level of complexity.
Schedule
Our Lead Service Technicians typically work a schedule that includes one or more weekend days. Our Service Team members participate in a rotating on-call schedule with additional shift differential pay.
