Lead Scientist Obesity Disease/Adipocyte Biology; Biopharma

About the role

This Scientist position will oversee the lab and the work of the associates, ensuring programs move ahead smoothly. The role is a hands-on bench lead position focusing on liver and obesity, with responsibilities including building assays to support these studies.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab benchwork and serve as the obesity/adipocyte expert
• Build assays to support studies
• Maintain documentation and bench notes according to good laboratory practices (GLP)
• Oversee the lab and the work of associates

Requirements

• PhD plus 5+ years of pharma/biotech industry experience
• Has led or significantly contributed to a drug discovery program
• Deep expertise in adipocyte cell culture and obesity biology
• Experience with mammalian cells (not bacterial) and complex primary cell culture
• Proficiency in microscopy (Columbus/Opera Phenix), cell staining, IPSC, Western Blots, ELISAs, HTRFs, absorbance readouts, and qPCR
• Diverse technical skills and GLP experience in small to mid-size biotech or pharma company

Nice to Have

• Experience with a program that progressed to clinic
