Lead Scala Developer/Backend

About the role

The Lead Scala Developer will lead the development of microservices in Scala and deliver NextGen transformation and professional services projects/programs for Orion Innovation. Responsibilities include adhering to development processes, reporting status, identifying and addressing issues, fostering a supportive team environment, recommending and implementing solutions, and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to development processes and follow Akka Framework and Akka Streams for Scala development.
• Implement Test Driven Development and understand GRPC Protocol + Protocol Buffers.
• Develop and maintain Microservices, with a focus on event-driven architecture.
• Work with Docker Containers and Kubernetes for cloud-native applications.
• Use Jira, Confluence, Ansible, Terraform for project management and infrastructure automation.
• Have hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
• Write scripts in Batch, Bash, and Python as needed.
• Ensure integration with third-party applications and have Agile knowledge.
• Collaborate on financial industry and core banking integration projects.

Requirements

• 4-8 years of recent hands-on experience in Scala and Akka Framework.
• Good understanding of Akka Streams and Test Driven Development.
• Experience with design and development of Microservices.
• Knowledge of Event-driven Microservices Architecture.
• Hands-on Experience in Docker Containers and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of cloud native applications and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Batch, Bash, and Python.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
