Lead, Retail Architecture

Brief Overview

Scout Motors is an innovative brand aiming to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV market. The Lead, Retail Architecture role is responsible for designing and implementing Scout’s retail architecture to align with the brand’s core values and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Possess deep understanding of Scout’s core customer and the automotive retail experience
• Lead and assist in the documentation of retail brand standards
• Coordinate design/construction requirements offered by critical internal Scout teams
• Manage execution/construction of the retail prototype and perform user testing
• Manage execution of design agreements with architects, engineers, and other design consultants
• Manage multiple projects in multiple jurisdictions simultaneously
• Support Scout team members by providing design input on other company projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture
• Licensed architect in good standing
• 12+ years of architecture and design experience, preferably in retail and/or automotive
• Project management / program management experience
• Strong creative design and space-planning skills
• Experience with Revit, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of building codes, standards, zoning regulations, and permit requirements
• General knowledge of MEP/Structural systems and associated constructability requirements
• Understanding of AIA design agreements and ability to identify/avoid contractual risk
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of sustainable design programs and certification experience (LEED or similar) is preferred

Pay

The initial base salary range for this role is $140,000.00 - $170,000.00, with an annual performance bonus program.

Schedule

This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC. It requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
