Essential Position Duties
- Delegate work assignments, motivate, and provide coaching for the Technicians in the shop.
- Ensure teammates are engaged and answer questions as needed.
- Aid in training new hires on job tasks and process and procedures.
- Maintain technical skills development among the team.
- Cookordination workflow by assigning jobs to the appropriate Technicians according to their schedule and expertise.
- Communicate expectations of time/completion and ensure that jobs are completed within the required time frame.
- Aid Technicians in completing assigned work of repairs, service maintenance, and/or verifying routine maintenance verses customer damage, including assisting with repair related problems; verify the quality of work by setting high quality standards of repair and measuring conformance for the standards.
- Maintain the shop area and equipment, including keeping the shop area and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order and suggesting equipment replacement when needed to ensure safe working conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
Position Requirements
- Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a high school education; Technical training through a vocational school preferred.
- 3 years of work-related experience in an industry-related technical/mechanical function; supervisory experience and knowledge of shop tooling procedures preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, non-verbal, and listening skills.
- Able to articulate specific equipment problems in detail to management, peers and/or customers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good problem solving, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines and basic understanding of warranty administration.
- Moderate computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office. Moderate experience using database systems.
- A working knowledge of safety rules, laws and regulations concerning engine service, hydraulics, electrical, technical functions of various components and tooling procedures and capabilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with no supervision and achieve required goals and objectives.
- The ability to work overtime and weekends.

- Works under close supervision.
- Employee may act independently for recurring assignments, but supervision is readily available for unfamiliar situations or problems.
- Detailed instructions or established procedures are usually available as guidelines for most aspects of the job.
- Frequently communicates with management, coworkers, and vendors.
- Technical Competencies:
- Excellent mechanical abilities as demonstrated through daily work practices of diagnosing and repairing equipment.
- Excellent working knowledge of the 7 machine systems: Electrical/Electronics, Hydraulics, Power Trains, Air Conditioning, Brakes, Engine Performance, Engine Repair.
