Lead Registered Dietitian

As our Registered Dietitian Lead, you will assist with some patient care, but you are also a training and education resource for the team. You will interact closely with our medical providers, administration, nursing staff, therapy teams, and our on-site culinary department to support our patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop appropriate nutrition care plans
• Monitor outcomes and provide patient and family nutrition counseling and education
• Develop Nutrition Standards of Practice and education material in collaboration with peers
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare teams and provide input into patient care, policies, programs, and quality improvement activities
• Provide in-service education in areas of expertise
• Establish and maintain proper patient care procedures with the clinical nutrition team
• Act as a liaison between the clinical nutrition staff and other members of the healthcare team
• Assist with program marketing through the development of excellent working relationships with internal and external customers
• Participate in, develop, collect, and respond to results of continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities in clinical areas
• Provide coordination of projects and programs
• Develop and provide training/educational resources to clinical nutrition staff
• Ensure proper scheduling of clinical nutrition staff to maintain coverage and meet system and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent coursework
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) based on academic and professional requirements as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Effective January 1, 2024, CDR requires a minimum of Master’s degree to be eligible to take the registration examination
• Current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and able to maintain ongoing registration while providing verification of registration annually
• Maintain current licensure as required by State law
• Level of expertise typically achieved through three to five years of clinical experience
• Ability to function independently, effectively prioritize assigned patient load, and lead the clinical team in their daily functions
• 3 years of acute care setting experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of nutrition support required (TPN and Tube Feeding calculations and parenteral macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous healthcare leadership experience
• Additional certifications such as CNSC, CDE, CSP, CSR, CSO, CSG, CSSD, or Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian (CCTD)
• Additional related education and/or experience

Schedule

• Full-time, days, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
• Some rotating holidays and weekend coverage when needed
