Monte Nido Vista, located in Agoura Hills, CA, is a residential treatment program exclusively for adults seeking treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, or Exercise Addiction. Monte Nido’s treatment approach focuses on the restoration of physiological and nutritional balance, implementation of healthy eating and exercise routines, elimination of harmful behaviors, and development of motivation and treatment engagement. Our objective is to help each client achieve a clear understanding of their eating and/or exercise disorder and its effect on their life, as well as an individualized appreciation of what is necessary for their personal recovery.

About the role

The Lead Recovery Coach position is responsible for providing direct patient support as well as therapeutic interventions in adherence to the philosophy and principles of Monte Nido. They are also responsible for providing support and training for the Recovery Coaches.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, comfortable environment and therapeutic milieu for patients.
  • Transport patients to and from the facility safely and in a timely manner using a facility-provided vehicle (requires a clean driving record and clean background check).
  • Monitor patient safety, including eating disordered behaviors, during the program day and intervene with recovery-focused directives when appropriate.
  • Participate in and monitor daily meals and snacks with patients, including preparation; facilitate Meal Pre-Planning and Meal Process Groups.
  • Monitor bathroom activities and break times during the day.
  • Conduct 15 to 30-minute safety checks throughout the night shift.
  • Facilitate and monitor patient safety during daily and weekly outings for meals and group activities.
  • Document all information, interactions, communications, behaviors, and interventions in daily reports and patient meal logs in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in weekly to bi-weekly staff meetings to foster personal and professional growth and build team cohesion.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to relay information from staff meetings to recovery coaches.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of a patient’s total needs, addressing psychosocial, physical, developmental, spiritual, and cultural issues as appropriate.
  • Adhere to the designated work schedule, arrange for vacations/absences in advance, and maintain working knowledge of fire, disaster, and infection control programs.
  • Handle scheduling of Recovery Coaches and secure or provide coverage in the event of call-offs or voids in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Provide training and support for Recovery Coaches at hire and ongoing.
  • Facilitate, in collaboration with the Program Manager, at minimum monthly Recovery Coach meetings.
  • Adhere to Monte Nido & Affiliates policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, co-workers, and others using tact and sensitivity.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and communications.
  • Uphold the values and philosophy of the Monte Nido & Affiliates mission statement.
  • Recommend quality and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Be available for on-call duties when necessary and cover voids or call-offs.
  • In an emergency or declared state of emergency, may be required to stay onsite as part of the emergency team until the emergency has ended.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • If no Program Manager is assigned, collaborate with the Clinical Director for scheduling and monthly Recovery Coach meetings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a health-related field is highly desired.
  • Valid state-issued Driver’s License with a safe driving history.
  • CPR certification required, or within 90 days of hire.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, Evening shift (2:30 - 11:00 PM); on-call required every other week.

Pay

$25.00 - $29.00 per hour.
