Lead Quality Tooling Technician
Job Details
- Support and drive quality initiatives to ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Perform product inspections and verify components against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Conduct root cause investigations for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving processes, and increasing operational efficiency.
- Perform internal quality audits and assist with maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer quality requirements.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, and customer teams to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing documentation to ensure product conformance.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment and inspection tools, including CMMs and/or laser scanning equipment when applicable.
- Support customer and supplier quality activities, including investigations, documentation, and corrective actions.
- Aid the Quality Manager with daily quality operations and serve as the primary quality resource for one manufacturing facility.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
- Experience within a foundry, metal casting, machining, tooling, automotive, fabrication, or other precision manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949.
- Experience performing inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and product specifications.
