About the Role
We’re partnering with an established aerospace and defense manufacturer seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to support high-precision manufacturing and ensure products meet strict engineering, customer, and quality requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inspector with a strong background in aerospace quality, First Article Inspection (FAI), dimensional inspection, engineering drawings, and precision measuring equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace components and assemblies.
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Conduct and document First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, standards, and quality requirements.
- Verify finished products meet customer and engineering requirements.
- Identify, issue, review, and validate product nonconformances.
- Review and assist with corrective action plans related to quality issues.
- Issue Certificates of Conformance (COCs).
- Verify reworked products meet required specifications.
- Complete inspection reports, logs, quality documentation, and database entries.
- Provide technical support for production and quality-related issues.
- Recommend improvements to receiving, assembly, production, and shipping processes.
- Train and mentor employees on quality requirements and inspection practices.
- Support internal and external Quality Management System audits.
- Maintain quality records and tracking spreadsheets, including calibrated tools and approved vendors.
- Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve issues and maintain product quality.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Quality certification(s) required.
- 5+ years of aerospace quality inspection experience.
- 5+ years of aerospace experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Strong experience performing dimensional inspections.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and similar inspection tools.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience working within a documented Quality Management System.
- Knowledge of visual inspection techniques and basic shop math.
- Experience identifying and documenting nonconforming material.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 certified aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Experience with electro-optics assemblies.
- Experience handling ESD-sensitive components.
- Experience supporting quality audits and corrective action processes.
