Lead Quality Engineer Test Automation with Playwright and Selenium Experience

About The Role

As a Lead Quality Engineer Test Automation with Playwright and Selenium Experience, you will make an impact by designing and delivering modern test automation solutions that ensure high-quality digital experiences. You will be a valued member of the QA Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to drive quality across web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and integration testing
• Partner with developers, business analysts, and product owners to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) to enable continuous testing
• Execute UI and API testing leveraging Playwright capabilities
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Rally, driving resolution with engineering teams
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Create and maintain test reports and dashboards to provide visibility into quality metrics
• Contribute to test planning, estimation, and release readiness for new features

Requirements

• 8+ years of Quality Engineering experience, including hands-on Playwright UI automation
• Strong experience with Selenium and Java-based automation frameworks
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Java for test development
• Solid experience with the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern
• Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA lifecycle
• Experience with defect management and test management tools (Rally preferred)

Benefits

• The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to 112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
• This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
