About the role
This role is for a Lead Quality Engineer to oversee quality assurance across various platforms including web applications, HubSpot workflows, APIs, internal tools, and product analytics. The position involves setting quality strategies and leading the implementation of modern automation and AI-assisted testing.
Responsibilities
- Set and execute quality assurance strategies for web applications, APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
- Develop and maintain automated tests for modern web applications, APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
- Establish or significantly mature a QA/automation practice, including testing standards, coverage strategy, and tooling.
- Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into clear test plans and automated validation.
- Create regression, smoke, integration, and acceptance test coverage.
- Use AI-assisted QA tools, test generation, self-healing tests, or low-code/no-code automation platforms to improve test reliability.
- Troubleshoot failed tests, isolate defects, identify flaky tests, and improve test reliability.
- Ensure release readiness, manage defect lifecycle, assess regression risks, and ensure adequate test coverage.
- Communicate clearly with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to drive the quality agenda.
Requirements
- 5+ years of QA, Test Automation, or Quality Engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience building or maintaining automated tests.
- Experience testing modern web applications, APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
- Experience establishing or significantly maturing a QA/automation practice.
- Experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, or similar.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Strong ability to translate requirements and acceptance criteria into clear test plans and automated validation.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted QA tools, test generation, self-healing tests, or low-code/no-code automation platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to isolate defects, identify flaky tests, and improve test reliability.
- Understanding of release readiness, defect lifecycle management, regression risk, and test coverage.
- Self-directed, able to set the quality agenda and drive it without day-to-day direction.
