About the role

L3Harris is seeking a Lead, Project Engineer (Responsible Engineer Authority) at its Production Facility in Camden, AR. The role supports multiple production programs and involves evaluating and resolving non-conforming hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices.
  • Real time WIP NC prioritization - repair, scrap evaluation / functional coordination.
  • Real time process optimization, Yield improvement support - minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.
  • Factory specific technical inputs enabling Root Cause and Corrective Action and Sector Systemic Learning.
  • Affixes new equipment, processes, procedures and systems.
  • Works on site in Camden supporting critical production programs.
  • Knowledgeable of all design and manufacturing aspects of their assigned program.
  • Technically capable of assessing any and all non-conformances to determine an immediate action (UAI, Rework, Scrap…).
  • Provides Real-time process optimization, Yield improvement support - minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.
  • Engineering Responsible Authority on root cause and effective corrective actions (RCCA), closely partnered with the Quality organization in determining root cause and effective corrective actions for stated NCs.
  • Manages required engineering analysis support to inform “Design Engineering” dispositions.
  • Knowledgeable of and able to speak to/represent the AR Material Review Board processes.
  • Understands pertinent codes, rules, and regulations related to areas of engineering assignments.
  • Uses engineering test equipment, CAD, and computer applications with various office and engineering software applications.
  • Understands and adheres to Systems Engineering principles in Requirements and Risk & Opportunity management.
  • Familiar with standard engineering tools and practices.
  • Understands theories, principles and practices of engineering and project management methods.
  • Understands rocket propulsion component(s) and theory of operation.
  • Understands safety regulations, principles and practices of work safety.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant Project Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related Project Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Project Engineering experience.
  • Proficient in CAD, GD&T, Analysis or Materials.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to quickly assess complex problems, make decisions, and drive closure.
  • Previous experience working root cause and non-conformances.
  • Previous experience in project, materials, process, manufacturing, and/or integration/test engineering.
  • Previous experience designing & testing new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Six-Sigma Certification.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant Project Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related Project Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Project Engineering experience.
