About the role
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring a Lead Project Engineer for Cloud Infrastructure on a proprietary program in Hazelwood, MO. This execution-focused role sits within the Digital Infrastructure Segment (DIS), emphasizing Cloud Computing. It offers the chance to combine engineering leadership and program execution to influence next-generation digital capabilities on a proprietary defense program.
This position is 100% onsite at Hazelwood, MO. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, domestically depending on business needs.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). A U.S. Security Clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
Responsibilities
- Lead project execution for DIS work packages that heavily leverage Cloud Engineering capabilities.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage cross-functional teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
- Define work packages, allocate resources, track progress, and manage subcontractor activities.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics and analytics to measure technical and business outcomes.
- Manage Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and analysis; support risk, issue, and opportunity management.
- Respond to changes in Statement of Work (SOW), assess impacts, and negotiate modifications to deliverables, costs, and schedules.
- Serve as Cost Account Manager (CAM) as assigned.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and the customer.
- Promote a transparent, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
- U.S. Secret Security Clearance (active or active within the past 24 months) and U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a “U.S. Person” (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure and hosting applications in the cloud.
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira.

Pay
Summary pay range: $136,850 – $185,150. Pay is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
