The Lead Project Controls Analyst will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining project controls systems, including cost control, scheduling, and progress reporting for Primoris Energy Services projects in Independence, Missouri. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of project schedules, utilizing critical path methodology and various scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cost control systems, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and present detailed project reports, including progress updates, cost performance, schedule adherence, and risk assessments to project stakeholders and management.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, potential problems, and areas for improvement, providing proactive recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely input for project controls activities.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) for various projects.
  • Perform earned value management (EVM) analysis and provide insights into project performance.
  • Support change management processes by evaluating the impact of changes on project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior project controls personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant industry standards.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and close-out activities.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project controls, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial construction sectors.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate meaningful reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • PMP, AACE, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
