About the role

Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Lead Product Manager to own how we acquire new users. While Performance Marketing, SEO, Partnerships, and Brand run our acquisition channels day to day, this role is their product counterpart: you will define which audiences we go after, how we broaden the channel mix over time, and what we need to build to get there, owning the roadmap and engineering investment behind that plan. The successful candidate combines genuine acquisition expertise with strong product management, and leads through influence helping teams define where acquisition should head next. Your work will directly shape who discovers our products and how durable our growth is.

You will

  • Own the acquisition roadmap and decide where its engineering investment goes, adapting as the market shifts.
  • Develop and maintain a cross-channel view of where acquisition investment pays off, and bring a clear, evidence-backed recommendation to channel owners and leadership.
  • Build acquisition into the product itself, through referrals, sharing, and other experiences that help existing users bring in new ones.
  • Build and maintain the product capabilities that make each channel more effective, including discoverability, search and AI-answer-engine readiness, channel integrations, and acquisition tracking, working hand in hand with the teams who run those channels.
  • Identify and test new ways to reach users and scale the ones that prove durable.
  • Work closely with Performance Marketing, SEO, Partnerships, and Brand so that product investment and channel investment reinforce one another, with each team continuing to own strategy and execution within its own channel.
  • Set the measurement bar for acquisition, connecting investment to the long-term value of the subscribers it produces rather than traffic or signup volume alone.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Data Science, Product, Marketing and Brand.

You have

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management or growth, with at least 2 years focused on user acquisition, preferably in a consumer subscription business.
  • A hybrid background: a product manager with deep growth marketing experience, or a growth marketer with equally strong product management experience.
  • Working fluency across acquisition channels, including paid search and social, SEO and organic discovery, partnerships, and acquisition driven by the product itself, with a clear point of view on the strengths and tradeoffs of each.
  • The credibility to be a genuine peer to channel experts. You can go deep enough with a paid marketer or an SEO specialist to earn their trust, without needing to run their channel yourself.
  • A track record of building acquisition mechanics into a product, such as growth loops, not only optimizing paid channels.
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics, experimentation, attribution, and funnel optimization, with the ability to tie acquisition decisions to long-term subscriber value rather than cost per acquisition or volume alone.
  • A proven ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment across marketing and product organizations.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward defining a new charter rather than inheriting an established roadmap.

Nice to have

  • Experience optimizing for AI search and answer engines, SEO at significant scale, B2C/B2B2C distribution models.
