Circle is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join their Identity Team. This role is a horizontal platform position, focusing on designing foundational systems like Authentication, Roles & Permissions, and Billing that all other product teams rely on.
About the role
- Transforming Chaos into Order: Circle is evolving from a startup to a mature tech organization. The Lead Product Designer will audit and unify fragmented workflows into a cohesive platform experience.
- Unified Identity: Designing how users interact with Roles, Permissions, and Team Management, ensuring these complex functionalities are intuitive for both administrators and end-users.
- Centralized Billing Infrastructure: Designing a scalable billing and subscription system that integrates seamlessly across different parts of the Circle ecosystem.
- Security meets UX: Addressing high-stakes flows such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO) setup, and account recovery, while maintaining a balance between security and usability.
Responsibilities
- Audit and unify fragmented workflows into a cohesive platform experience.
- Design intuitive user interfaces for Roles, Permissions, and Team Management.
- Develop a scalable billing and subscription system that integrates seamlessly across different parts of the Circle ecosystem.
- Tackle high-stakes flows like MFA, SSO setup, and account recovery, ensuring security without compromising usability.
Requirements
- Proven track record working on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems.
- Mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy in UI and visual design.
- Experience wrangling technical complexity and turning messy requirements into clean, logical UIs.
- Expertise in Figma, creating scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants.
- Strong strategic communication skills, able to articulate design decisions and present to leadership.
- Empathy for both internal and external users, understanding the needs of both Circle's customers and its internal developers/designers.

- Exceptional UI & Visual Design Skills: A portfolio demonstrating mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy.
- Complexity Wrangling: Comfortable with technical complexity and able to transform messy requirements into clean, logical UIs.
- Component-Based Thinking: Expertise in Figma, creating scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants.
- Strategic Communication: Strong ability to communicate design decisions effectively and negotiate with engineering partners.
- Empathy for Internal & External Users: Understanding the needs of both Circle's customers and its internal developers/designers.

Benefits
- Starting pay range: $172,500 - $225,000
