Circle is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join our Identity Team. This role is part of a horizontal platform team, focusing on designing foundational systems like Authentication, Roles & Permissions, and Billing that all other product teams at Circle will rely on.
About the role
- Transforming Chaos into Order: Circle is evolving from a startup to a mature tech organization. The Lead Product Designer will audit and unify fragmented workflows into a cohesive platform experience.
- Unified Identity: Designing intuitive experiences for Roles, Permissions, and Team Management, catering to both admins and end-users.
- Centralized Billing Infrastructure: Designing a scalable billing and subscription experience that integrates seamlessly across the Circle ecosystem.
- Security meets UX: Tackling high-stakes flows such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO) setup, and account recovery, ensuring robust security without compromising usability.
Responsibilities
- Audit existing, fragmented workflows and unify them into a cohesive platform experience.
- Design the systems for Roles, Permissions, and Team Management, making complex logic intuitive for both admins and end-users.
- Design a scalable billing and subscription experience that unifies how customers pay for different parts of the Circle ecosystem.
- Tackle high-stakes flows like MFA, SSO setup, and account recovery, ensuring security never comes at the expense of usability.
Requirements
- Proven track record working on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems.
- Mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy in your portfolio.
- The ability to wrangle technical complexity and translate it into clean, logical UI designs.
- Expertise in Figma, creating scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants.
- Strategic communication skills to articulate design decisions and negotiate with engineering partners.
- Empathy for both internal and external users, understanding the needs of developers and designers who will build with your tools.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Visual and UI design.
- Adept at bringing a level of polish and craft that sets the standard for the organization.
- Experience with complex requirements documents and turning them into clean, logical UIs.
- Comfortable presenting to leadership and negotiating with engineering partners to maintain design quality.

- Base Pay Range: $172,500 - $225,000
