Lead Producer
Slate Strategy & Development
Own the development slate: what’s in development, what’s piloting, what’s scaling, and what’s been paused or discontinued, and why.
Spot formats worth building from what’s already working across Pubity Group’s channels, trends and audience data, rather than starting from a blank page.
Set the bar for each format before it earns a production slot, including cost, what it needs to prove and what “working” looks like in numbers.
Keep a live pipeline of formats in progress at all times, sized to keep production consistently fed rather than developed one at a time.
Format Development
Shape loose ideas into shootable formats: define the hook, structure, cast or talent, and what makes someone watch episode two.
Direct the producers and development resource working on formats through the pipeline, reviewing and sharpening their thinking rather than just signing it off.
Decide where you develop a format yourself versus where you delegate it, and hold the standard from a distance.
Production & Pilots
Take formats from greenlight to shot pilot, booking time with the Pubity Production Hub to support the creation of the content.
Set the shoot plan and pilot brief, oversee the pilot batch, and get it edited and out inside a defined production window.
Manage the trade-off between speed and quality at pilot stage across multiple formats at once. A pilot needs to prove the format, not be the finished product.
Scaling & Performance
Read pilot performance against a defined bar, including views, retention, engagement and repeat watch, and make the call on what scales, what gets reworked, and what gets paused or discontinued.
Build the read-out on slate performance, not just format by format, so the Head of Studio sees where the pipeline is strong and where it’s thin.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Working
Work day to day with the Production Hub to plan and prioritise shoots across the whole slate, not just your own formats.
Keep the Head of Studio and Co-Founders close on pipeline status, pilot results and scaling decisions.
This role sets direction on formats, not just executes them.
Work closely with the Brand Strategy and Productisation teams to ensure shows can be packaged and presented to commercial clients or as part of pitches as soon as they’re ready.
Set the standard for what good development looks like across the team and bring on or direct additional producers as the slate grows.
