The Lead Process Technician performs process sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line on a variety of mechanical and electrical processes. They also support Engineering by troubleshooting, training, and implementing lean manufacturing methodologies to improve scrap reduction and yield.
Responsibilities
- Timely and professional communication between Process, Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and Quality regarding current line limiters, troubleshooting, and resource allocation
- Support in developing process sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line on various automated processes to keep process variation within defined control limits
- Disposition of non-conforming materials, response to out-of-control processes, and involvement in yield improvement projects
- Qualifying new equipment and processes introduced into the manufacturing line
- Managing workload with a positive attitude as a team player, influencing, coordinating, and leading other technicians to meet production needs
- Writing work instructions, setting up workstations, maintaining tools and spares, ensuring safety, ergonomics, quality, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S principles
- Planning, executing, and driving daily operations to meet targets and expectations in safety, quality, productivity, team development, and 5S
Requirements
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal direction, contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment, and demonstrating quick learning and comfort in ambiguity
- Strong analytical skills with experience querying and analyzing data sets using SQL and data analysis software
- Experience developing processes and creating manufacturing instructions according to lean six sigma methodologies
- Good understanding of OEE metrics, throughput, and bottleneck analysis
- Proficiency in applied problem-solving tools such as 5 Why’s, cause-effect analysis, Pareto charts, 8D’s, Kaizen, etc.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, including stairs and standing for long periods
- Frequent and repetitive lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds and 20 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, laying, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and crawling for extended periods
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals of the production process and product
- Good understanding of OEE metrics, throughput, and bottleneck analysis
- Proficiency in applied problem-solving tools such as 5 Why’s, cause-effect analysis, Pareto charts, 8D’s, Kaizen, etc.
