Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and design sessions for enterprise applications, platform and infrastructure.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solution architectures.
- Design secure, highly available, and resilient cloud solutions using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Develop architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and implementation guidance.
- Evaluate existing environments and recommend modernization strategies.
- Define networking architectures including VCNs, DRGs, Load Balancers, DNS, security zones, and hybrid connectivity.
- Establish shared observability frameworks and rollout policies adopted by numerous teams; manage deprecation risk.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, database, DevOps, and application development teams throughout project delivery.
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability solution designs.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing architectures.
- Mentor engineering teams on architecture best practices and cloud-native design patterns.
- Collaborates with stakeholders internally and externally to lead efforts to understand customer issues, root causes, and mitigation to align and explain rationale behind solutions.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to customers regarding customer-reported issues to mitigate recurrence.
- Acts as an advisor to advocate for customers' interests and suggests product enhancements and solutions based on feedback.
- Networks across lines of business to ensure customer satisfaction through timely resolution of issues and effective communication.
- Leads project initiatives for periodic maintenance and testing operations for systems that require upgrading or patching (e.g., for critical vulnerabilities).
- Acts as subject matter expert to drive improvements, ensures automation, testing, and debugging of systems to ensure service/product availability, health, support, and reliability.
- Leverages deep industry knowledge and expertise to serve as a thought leader within the organization. Contributes to the advancement of the field or industry through thought leadership (e.g., conference presentations, white papers, research contributions).
- Maintains and evolves expertise in relevant areas by proactively monitoring emerging trends, technologies, and industry standards, ensuring the organization remains current with best practices.
- Champions continuous learning and knowledge sharing, promoting professional development across teams.
- Applies new knowledge to drive advancement and mentors others to do the same.
- Develops innovative solutions and drives the implementation of ideas that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows across the organization.
- Evaluates effectiveness of updated approaches and methods for continued improvement to enhance efficiencies and ensure changes align with organizational goals.
- Designs and develops metrics to measure success of improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of IT experience with at least 8 years in solution architecture.
- Strong experience designing enterprise cloud solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including routing, load balancing, VPN, FastConnect, DNS, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience with Linux and Windows platforms.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Strong understanding of identity and access management, encryption, and cloud security best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting financial institutions or highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience designing multi-region disaster recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture principles.
