As a Lead Principal Engineer for the Torpedo Systems Group MK48 program, you will lead overall system architecture, ensure requirement adherence, and identify future opportunities on Torpedo Programs.

Responsibilities

  • Hardware system design: Architect and optimize systems with digital, analog, and mechanical components for DC/AC and DC/DC applications.
  • Design and development expertise: Lead and mentor circuit design, integration, verification, modeling, and simulation while ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Project leadership: Manage high-risk projects, communicate risks and mitigation strategies, and ensure quality and timeliness in operations.
  • Problem-solving and analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for both new and existing products and drive technical improvements.
  • Technical collaboration: Participate in design reviews, trade studies, and proposals while staying current on semiconductor processors, SoCs, and FPGA architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.

Skills

  • Expertise in electronics and microprocessor systems: Experience with Gigahertz microprocessors, FPGA, CPLD, memory technologies, and high-speed serial links (e.g., 5+ Gbps).
  • Circuit design and testing proficiency: Strong knowledge of digital, analog, and power electronic circuits, plus hands-on experience with test equipment like scopes, power sources, and probes.
  • Technical tools and software knowledge: Familiarity with tools like Mentor Graphics, OrCAD PSPICE, LT Spice, Mathcad, Microsoft Office, and Visio.
  • Teamwork and project leadership: Ability to collaborate on multiple projects, apply leadership principles (e.g., Earned Value, CAM), and communicate results effectively.
  • Mechanical-electronics integration: Experience designing and testing complex electronics assemblies within mechanical systems.
  • Hardware architecture expertise: Proven ability to design complex analog and digital hardware systems.
  • Circuit design proficiency: Skilled in creating schematics, layouts, BOMs, and high-frequency magnetics design.
  • Product development leadership: Experience driving product roadmaps, defining new platforms, and extending existing products.
  • Team leadership: Technical lead for multidisciplinary teams, including Digital, Analog, Power Electronics, Mechanical, and Test Engineers.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $180,000.00/Yr. - USD $200,000.00/Yr.

Schedule

This position is flex/on-site in Canonsburg, PA. Relocation assistance is available.
