Lead Primary Care Nurse - South Philadelphia

About the role

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Lead Primary Care Nurse for the South Philadelphia Primary Care office. This position is Monday-Friday with shifts based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements practices to enhance the organization's ability to provide resources ensuring continuity of care among primary care, specialties, other disciplines, and across healthcare systems.
• Evaluates and manages the performance of nursing personnel and outcomes of nursing care delivery systems.
• Monitors staff performance providing feedback regularly.
• Partners with Nurse Managers to identify and execute annual unit-based quality improvement initiatives resulting in measurable impacts on quality, cost, and resource utilization.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and develops action plans to improve patient outcomes.
• Partners with Nurse Managers to identify opportunities.

Requirements

• Technical Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least two (2) years of primary care or ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
• At least one (1) year of pediatric experience preferred.
• At least one (1) year of previous supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to provide ongoing patient care.
• Organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
• Medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe working environment.
• Clinical Quality Management and Service Orientation.
• Regulatory requirements including the State Nurse Practice Act.

• Collecting clinical data using quality improvement tools.

• Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required.
• Registered Nurse (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required.
• Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) - Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PCNB) - - Preferred.
• Certified Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - issued through an organization requiring a hands-on instructor-led psychomotor skills verification (e.g., American Heart Association or Red Cross) - upon hire - Required.

SALARY RANGE: $44.25 - $56.45 Hourly
