About the role
The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for the day-to-day classroom activities in the KID Preschool PLUS (KPP) program, establishing and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment that facilitates both learning and healing. The school uses the Creative Curriculum as a foundation for learning and planning, emphasizing hands-on, engaging experiences to foster a love of learning in children.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement daily classroom activities for infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, nurturing, and conducive to learning and healing.
- Utilize the Creative Curriculum as a base for lesson planning and instruction.
- Provide hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants.
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience working in an infant classroom within a childcare facility.
- Passion for working with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or equivalent.
- Completion of the 45-hour DCF Childcare Licensing training, including Parts 1 and 2 and Early Literacy for Children Age Birth Through Three, with passing exam scores.
- Advanced training in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse, and/or Child Development.

Pay
