Lead Preschool Teacher

About the role

BMH-BJ Preschool is a play-based school seeking lead teachers who demonstrate a deep love and patience for children. We welcome applicants interested in teaching infants/toddlers as well as preschool-age children. Ideal candidates are warm, vibrant, flexible team players eager to contribute to our community.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a program that provides a safe, positive learning environment for young learners.
• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate curriculum activities aligned with our program philosophy.
• Incorporate meaningful activities that educate about Jewish tradition, culture, values, and Israel.
• Communicate regularly with families via weekly newsletters and create opportunities for family involvement in children’s learning.
• Engage with children in a positive manner and supervise them at all times.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and discuss children’s development with parents, including behavioral ups and downs.
• Meet physical demands: lift/carry up to 35 pounds, sit on the ground with children, run short distances, and bend at the waist; be flexible and adaptable to changing classroom needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Six semester hours in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
• Knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods.
• Ability to engage young children and earn their trust and attention.
• Maintain a PDIS account.
• Prior experience working with young children.
• Pass a background check.
