Lead Preschool Teacher

About the role

The BMH-BJ Preschool is seeking dedicated and passionate lead teachers for its infant/toddler and preschool programs. We are looking for individuals who can create a safe, positive learning environment for our youngest learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop a program that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of children aged 1-5.
• Incorporate Jewish tradition, culture, values, and Israel into daily activities.
• Create engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum activities.
• Communicate regularly with families through weekly newsletters.
• Engage with children in a positive manner and follow health and safety guidelines.
• Supervise children at all times and maintain a safe environment.
• Discuss the development of children with parents and address behavioral concerns.
• Lift/carry up to 35 pounds, sit on the ground with children, run a short distance, and bend at the waist.
• Be flexible and willing to assist in various areas of the classroom.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Six semester hours in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
• Knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods.
• The ability to engage children and earn their trust and attention.
• Maintain a Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) account.
• Pass a background check.
