Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that promotes the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of preschool‑age children.
  • Plan and facilitate age‑appropriate activities, lessons, and experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued, respected, and safe to explore and learn.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of children’s progress and development and use data to inform instructional practices and individualized support plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment at all times.
  • Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers and classroom aides, fostering a collaborative and team‑oriented approach to teaching and learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding their child’s progress, achievement, and any concerns or challenges.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing training to enhance teaching skills and stay current on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Serve as a positive role model for children and colleagues, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to early childhood education.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required)
  • Previous experience working with preschool‑aged children in a licensed childcare or early education setting (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues
  • Creative, energetic, and adaptable teaching style, with a passion for inspiring young learners
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to pass a background check and comply with state licensing

Schedule

Flexible 8‑hour shift between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm; no nights or weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Reliable transportation
