Lead Preschool Teacher

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum in the classroom and supervises children.
• Ensures the classroom is clean, safe, and appropriately maintained.
• Completes paperwork such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings.
• Helps and supervises children during all activities.
• Counsels children on social, academic, or adjustment issues.
• Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
• Develops and prepares instructional aids/materials for classroom activities.
• Assists children with meal times and clean-up.
• Maintains classroom equipment and ensures its proper use and maintenance.
• Directs activities of other staff to maintain classroom order.
• Communicates with parents and maintains developmental profiles for children.
• Schedules and conducts parent/teacher conferences.
• Maintains family information board and classroom bulletin boards.
• Ensures classroom medication schedule is followed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education with 45 hours training in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.
• Must meet all state requirements for this position.
• Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility is preferred.
• Must have a pleasant/friendly demeanor and outgoing personality.
• Must be highly professional and dependable.
• Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
