About This Role

We are a licensed childcare center providing care for 1 month thru 5 years. We are looking for a full-time experienced Lead Preschool Teacher. This position is working with 7 3-4 year olds, providing children with fun, educational and developmentally appropriate activities in a safe and engaging environment. You must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment as well as be self-motivated and organized. Having patience and an ability to develop positive relationships with children and their families is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Washington State Code: WAC
  • Follow program policies and procedures
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Carry out program responsibilities
  • Follow the classroom daily schedule
  • Assume an equal share of joint housekeeping responsibilities such as nightly shutting down the classroom, keeping classroom and children's supplies inventoried
  • Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Maintain confidentiality

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school degree or GED
  • Have the ability to pass a Washington State background check
  • Have or receive a TB test by the first day
  • Have or receive STARS basic training
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment
  • Must have or get within 14 days Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must have or get within 14 days bloodborne pathogens
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks and be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Have an initial ECE certificate or willingness to get (scholarships available)
  • 2 years of verifiable professional experience working at a center or other group care program

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with lesson planning, prepping and implementation. We use Creative Curriculum, and training is provided.
