About the role

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Westfield, IN. The Lead PreKindergarten Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned lessons that foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth for PreK learners. The role involves designing engaging classroom activities, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, and observing and documenting children’s progress.

Responsibilities

  • Guide learning through play and model positive behavior
  • Communicate regularly with families about children’s progress and classroom activities
  • Collaborate with center leadership and teaching teammates
  • Support classroom routines and maintain compliance with licensing and safety requirements
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in early childhood education, with knowledge of PreKindergarten child development and age-appropriate practices
  • Demonstrated ability in lesson planning and curriculum implementation, including creating structured, engaging, and standards-based activities
  • Effective teaching skills, including classroom management, differentiated instruction, and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
  • Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in training or mentoring early childhood staff or assistants, and collaborating as a lead educator on a teaching team
  • Relevant coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred)
  • Ability to meet state and local licensing requirements, including background checks, health and safety clearances, and ongoing training hours
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a commitment to creating a safe, nurturing classroom that reflects diverse children and families
