Responsibilities

Conduct detailed electrical analysis utilizing time domain techniques to evaluate system performance and identify potential issues.

Perform complex calculations related to Transient Over-Voltage (TOV), Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), Switching Studies, and Insulation Coordination.

Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support in electrical analysis and troubleshooting.

Prepare comprehensive reports documenting analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications.

Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to time domain analysis.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (background in Power/Power Systems) and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • 12 or more years of experience in time domain analysis of power systems.
  • Proficiency in utilizing software tools such as PSCAD or EMTP-RV to perform complex electrical calculations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.

Skills

Willingness or ability to lead others who use modern tools such as automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.

Leadership in directing automation and process-improvement work, including how teams automate calculations, summarize technical documents, or generate design documentation and guiding when and how AI or agentic AI tools are used while ensuring results are checked.

Overseeing engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks, with review of automated outputs.

Compensation Range: $134,546 - $205,557
