About the Role
We're hiring a Lead Power System Engineer in Knoxville, TN; Nashville, TN; Memphis, TN; or Louisville, KY to provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training. This is a hybrid role with approximately 25% regional travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultation in power systems studies, power quality analysis, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training.
- Independently manage assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery within budgeted cost estimates and maintaining job cost accountability.
- Interpret customer specifications and inquiries to develop tailored technical proposals and pricing strategies.
- Provide innovative solutions that may include equipment upgrades, system testing, and design enhancements to improve performance and safety.
- Lead and mentor engineers on medium-sized projects, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
- Conduct and analyze Short-Circuit, LV/MV Coordination, and Arc Flash studies with precision and insight.
- Execute large studies and projects independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Knoxville, TN; Nashville, TN; Memphis, TN; or Louisville, KY.
- Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton’s safety program and policy, including role-applicable portions of the EESS Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) program and any required annual re-certifications.
- Submit to periodic customer-required background and drug screenings.
Qualifications
- Strong theoretical understanding of power system analysis for low- and medium-voltage applications.
- Experience with power system analysis including short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash hazard analysis.
- Power Quality Measurements and Harmonic Analysis.
- Basic Distribution System Design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- PE License.
- IEEE Senior Membership.
- Active in Local IEEE Technical Paper Authorship.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 – $143,000, based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
